Huntsville, AL, March 9, 2011, Michelle Crull, Senior Structural Engineer for the U.S. Army, has been recognized by Elite American Engineers for her dedication, achievements and leadership in structural engineering.

In her position as senior structural engineer, Dr. Crull primarily conducts studies on explosives safety for the U.S. Army. Utilizing her research, she is tasked with designing controls to mitigate the effects of explosions. Driven by her interest in structural engineering, she believes that her success stems from her hard work, and the support she receives from her family and friends. Previously, Dr. Crull held positions with the U.S. Army Core of Engineers, The University of Mississippi and The University of Alabama in Huntsville. She has been recognized for her expertise in structural engineering with numerous awards, including the Civilian Engineer of the Year Award from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Engineer of the Year Award from the Engineering and Support Center of the U.S. Army, both earned in 2003.

Dr. Crull holds a Bachelor of Science, as well as a Master of Science, in civil engineering from The University of Mississippi. She continued to further her education at Vanderbilt University, where she graduated with a Ph.D. in structural engineering in 1989. She is a registered professional engineer in the state of Alabama and a member of the Society of American Engineers. In her spare time, she lends her support to the Downtown Rescue Mission of Huntsville, Ala., and Habitat for Humanity International.
