Beaverton, MI, June 7, 2011, Bridgette Gomillion-Williams, Technical Research Specialist at Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Corporation, has been recognized by Elite American Engineers for dedication, achievements and leadership in polymer material science.
Possessing nearly 30 years in polymer science and engineering, Dr. Gomillion-Williams holds a proven track record when it comes to innovating breakthrough product and process technologies. Recently named as a technical research specialist, she draws upon eight years in product development to support research and development teams at Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Corporation. She also conducts her own on-site research when production problems arise in order to avoid similar situations in the future.
During her undergraduate years at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Dr. Gomillion-Williams was exposed to the field for the first time while she worked at a cooperative with The Dow Chemical Company. Her roommate at the time was assigned to polymers, which sparked her interest in the field. Driven by her natural curiosity, she transitioned into polymer chemistry and completed a Bachelor of Science on the subject. She continued to develop her knowledge base at Clemson University, which resulted in a Ph.D. in polymer science and a patent for a continuous-flow mixing device.
Looking to the future, Dr. Gomillion-Williams intends to pursue new opportunities to broaden her expertise in material science.
Bridgette Gomillion-Williams was originally selected for inclusion in EliteAMERICAN Engineers in June 2011. We are proud to be featuring Dr. Gomillion-Williams again in EliteAMERICAN Engineers for 2015.
